Steven Neuner

Founder and President of Alkali, LLC

A visionary and innovator, Steven started Alkali with the purpose of transforming a broken industry that rewards insurance brokers and agents for putting their personal interests above the interests of their clients.

In pursuit of his vision, Steven created The Empowered Advantage ®, an industry transforming process that ensures clients are properly insured, understand their coverage, and are maximizing their financial resources without fear of whether or not their interests are aligned with their agent.

Steven’s strong belief in and commitment to helping others realize their potential, take personal responsibility for their lives, and create systems that promote integrity is evident in all areas of Alkali and its unique processes.

Steven has lived in Dallas for over 20 years where he worked his way through a Bachelors Degree in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management from the University of North Texas, earned the prestigious Group Benefits Analyst insurance designation awarded by the Wharton School of Business, and the Dave Ramsey ELP endorsement.

Steven is married to Corey Neuner, his partner in business and in life, and together they are proud parents of a beautiful young daughter and a black lab that is treated like a family member. Corey and Steven jointly own and operate Alkali, LLC in Plano, Texas and currently reside in Frisco, Texas.

Corey Neuner

Co-founder and Client Service Leader of Alkali, LLC

Corey worked behind the scenes of Alkali before officially joining the team in 2007. She believes in providing concierge style service to all clients. Prior to Alkali, Corey taught reading and English at the middle school level.

Corey's motto: "Work hard, play hard!" Traveling and camping with her husband and daughter are among her favorite things. She also enjoys attending church and hanging out with family and friends every chance possible. Her newest personal hobby is learning to play the piano.

Born and raised in Oklahoma 10 years before moving to Texas, Corey now resides in Frisco with her husband and business partner, Steve Neuner, and their young daughter. Corey and Steve are both UNT alumni.

Toni Brookins

Individual and Family Client Service Specialist

Toni supports Alkali’s Individual and Family Department through her dedication to strong client service. Every client is greeted with southern cheer!

Toni is a country girl born and raised in Lone Oak, TX on her dad’s 1,200 acre ranch. She moved to McKinney Texas in 2000.

Her pride and joy is her 5 lb baby “Harley” who is a Deer Head Chihuahua. He is spoiled rotten and often treated as a human!

Toni is a people person and LOVES spending time with family and friends. She has a large family, so she often travels back and forth to family functions. Going to church and giving back to the community by volunteering is one way she enjoys spending her free time. She also loves scrap booking and going to “Christian” and “Country” concerts in her spare time.

Rick Moore

Individual & Family Insurance Consultant

Rick assists clients with personal lines of Health, Life, and Disability insurance. His background is in sales and client services. He spent several years working in real estate and mortgages prior to getting into insurance/financial roles. He worked for Prudential prior to joining the Alkali team in February of 2009.

Rick Moore is a husband and father of three. He is married to Amy, who has worked for a major insurance carrier for 11 years. Rick also assists Amy with her part-time catering business. Rick currently lives in Wylie and has lived in Texas all his life (and is proud of it!).

In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and family, gardening, watching ‘Lost’, and playing music. Rick is also very active in his church and heads up the audio/visual department. He is in the middle of recording his first CD and also works in Christian concert promotion, putting on concerts every 1-2 years at his church with various recording artists. He also loves traveling and has a goal of visiting all 50 states (only 13 more to go!)

Joyce Gaines

Senior Consultant

Joyce is a native Texan who enjoys more than 25 years of experience in helping businesses to outsource their non-core functions, freeing them to focus their time and talents on improving the productivity and profitability of their organizations. Early in her career, she taught high school speech and debate classes, and after earning her MS in Speech Pathology, worked diligently to rehabilitate stroke patients.

After a successful career as a Business Development Executive with several Fortune 500 companies, Joyce joined Alkali as a Senior Consultant in 2009. In that capacity, she identifies each client’s unique needs and develops creative solutions to find the best benefit value for their organization. Her ultimate goal is to help position her clients as an employer of choice – thus, attracting and retaining top talent.

Joyce is married to Paul Bennett, a CPA and business consultant, who shares her love for animals and her passion for helping small companies to grow and prosper. She is happiest when enjoying life’s simple pleasures – spending quality time with friends and family, gardening, exercising, watching movies and being amused the antics of her goofy “cat family”.

Shelley Burke

Group Benefits Analyst and Special Projects Coordinator

Shelley’s primary responsibilities include working closely with businesses in gathering all of the information necessary to obtain group medical and ancillary quotes. Shelley is also involved in various special projects including Internet Marketing and Web Development.

She has a Masters Degree in Marketing/Business Administration from Baker College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Shelley moved to Texas in 2000. Shelley enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her daughter, scrap booking, and exercising.

Brittney Bounds

Property & Casuality Insurance Consultant

Brittney was born and raised in Mansfield, TX. She started her career in the insurance business early at the age of 19 taking a summer job as a receptionist at a local independent agency. Brittney began working in personal lines insurance and found a passion for educating and assisting clients with their coverage. Since then, she has become an accredited ACSR and CISR, two of the higher and more distinguished designations in the field.

Brittney recently moved to Princeton, TX where she and her husband David bought an older home on 5 acres of land. They spend most of their free time renovating their home, but when they decide to take a break they enjoy spending time out on the lake fishing with friends. Brittney and David are new “parents” to a rescued 7 year old black lab named Ford.

Dennis Small

Property & Casuality Insurance Consultant

As a military brat, Dennis moved around quite a bit as a child but spent the majority of his life in Oklahoma before moving to Texas in 1998. He currently lives in McKinney with his wife, Toni, along with three daughters, three dogs, a cat, and three fish.

Dennis worked in the restaurant business for 15 years before entering the insurance industry in 2003 as a personal lines producer for a major insurance company. He loves meeting new people every day and helping them with their insurance needs. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M at Commerce and has plans to earn advanced accreditations in the insurance field.

In his free time, Dennis enjoys watching the Dallas Cowboys, hunting, exercising, and camping with his family.
